2021 Tech Innovator Award Winners:

●   Must work in a technical capacity at their company, which may include but is not limited to these roles: software developer, full-stack engineer, product manager, solutions architect, data scientist, etc.

●   Must be employed full-time by a company and work in the United States. Nominations for freelancers, contractors or those employed by an agency or consultancy will not be considered.

●   May not hold a C-level or VP-level position. Eligible nominees will hold an individual contributor, manager or director-level position.

Strong nominees my exhibit several of the characteristics listed below: 

●   Leverages technical knowledge to skillfully challenge conventions and generate positive, high-impact outcomes. 

●   Regularly demonstrates ingenuity and creative applications of technology.

●   Strategically prioritizes execution measures to effectively transform novel ideas into new value. 

●   Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities through initiative, accountability and collaboration. 

●   Effectively communicates new ideas, as well as their business value and broader impact on processes, products, customer satisfaction, etc. 

●   Questions assumptions regarding the significance of products and data, pushing the boundaries of technology. 

Nominees are required to work in a technical capacity at their company as a part of the 2021 Tech Innovator Award criteria. This includes, but is not limited to, the following roles: software developer, full-stack engineer, product manager, solutions architect, data scientist, etc.

Nominations for professionals in tech-adjacent roles will not be considered. These can include roles within the following functions: 

• Content
• Design + UX
• Finance
• People
• Legal
• Marketing
• Operations
• Project Management
• Sales

No. The 2021 Tech Innovator Awards program is entirely virtual. There will not be an event hosted as part of this year’s program. 

Yes. We encourage you to nominate as many individuals — peers or colleagues — who meet the criteria outlined above. Each nomination must be submitted separately through the nomination form here. 

No. You may not nominate yourself for the 2021 Tech Innovator Awards.

Winners will be featured in an article on our national platform, BuiltIn.com, which attracts more than 1 million users each month.

Winners will also receive a custom media package to help celebrate their win across their professional networks.

2021 Tech Innovator Award winners will be announced in August 2021.

2021 Tech Innovator Award winners will be notified via email. Nominators are required to provide the nominee’s email address so Built In may contact them directly should they receive an award.
